After a adventure to a new brewery, I’ve finally gotten the throwout bearing installed to the pressure plate! Circlips or C-clips are pure evil, especially so in this instance. You can kinda see it peeking out in the center.

Now everything is ready to be put together again!

It’s all about having the right set of pliers. My uncle let me fight with one for 20 minutes before he finally handed a set of circlip pliers to me.

Lesson learned.

I used a similar set. Problem was that the circlip doesn’t have the holes at the ends to securely hold the clip. A mix of hands, screwdrivers, and the Lord Clarkson’s Tool of Moderate Improvement fixed everything.

They make pliers that are supposed to work with clips without holes. I’ve never had a set to use , so I don’t know if they really work or not. I’ve done the screwdriver and hammer method. It’s really effective even though it usually requires a lot of swearing.

I’d love to see what those look like. Luckily I won’t need them again for a VERY, LONG, TIME.
